• Currently 9 semester Diploma degree, From Fall 2004 on 2 yr BFA/MFA course

• Interdisciplinary project-based studies.

Course Language

• Lectures and Seminars are in German. Individual Tutoring can be held in English.

Structure of Studies

• Usually 1 project per semester (various projects are being presented at the beginning of the semester, individual student proposals are supported). You will spend most time on the projects.

• mediacultural seminars and lectures (film theory, screenings, media theory, sociology, psychology, media management, copyright and legal issues etc. ) and lectures/seminars from visual communication on design theory and history.

• additional modules

Equipment:

• Various computer pools wit both mac/pc operating systems and standard software packages. Color high format plotters, color laser printers

• Emphasis on Video, TV and post-production: Maya on SGI workstations, various AVIDs, Inferno, Flint and Effect Systems, TV studio with blue screen facilities, stopmotion animation studio, varios camera equipment, light, dolly, crane etc.

• Access to Screenprint, Offset Print Facilites, Digital and Analogue Photo Labs

• 60.000 inhabitants
• 3 hrs trainride from berlin, 4 hrs from Hamburg, Munich, 1 hr from Leipzig
• although weimar is quite small... theres a lot going on. quite some student initiaves, regular parties etc. the booze is cheap and sold in everyday shops day and night.
